Training Corner brought to you by Jay DavisJay has taken the time to provide us with some sample things he has found in his travels though out the net.The math of cycling. This is an article about what some of the math means to us. this is a very interesting article and able to explain why it is so hard to go up the hills. Now you can claim it is physics not your legs that didn't get you there. The reference page he got this from is http://www.mayq.com/index.htm Steve Simet's training plan is what Steve uses. He gave it to us to use as a example of a training schedule. This includes his target heart rates and distances and percentages of effort. We hope you look at this and use it for your own ideas on your training plan. How to calculate your heart rate. This is a spreadsheet you can download and fill in your own data with. This is a great tool to learn what your various heart rates are. What the heart rates Mean. Well now that you have your heart rates calculated, what do you do with them. This spread sheet will give you what it all relates to. Setting goals! One of the hardest things we deal with as cyclists is we need to set realistic goals. This document will assist in giving yourself those goals. Fat Frogs Racing would like to thank Jay for his work in collecting this information to help us all in our endeavors to be a better cyclist. |
